Since the resurgence of Leon's book on Ebay and the Internet - and by popular demand Leon is working on a new, expanded second edition of Helmets of the Deep soon to be released during 2011 that will include many more photos and information about newer commercial diving equipment that has come on the scene since 1988.

April 15, 2016

Greetings to all ::::

Long time I haven't done an update about the book, which some believe will not see the light of day. The problem was with my website folks, which did not take care about a problem with people emailing me on the info email address, something I think was their problem, and they wanted to charge me to fix it. So now I am with another company, as of two weeks ago, using my personal email address, in doing this update.

The book, a long awaited project, that I had no idea would take so long. Initially, I was only going to add another two or three hundred pages to my first book, but it ended up with a lot more work involved, something like a total of 2000 pages, and possibly weighing in at around 50 pounds. Work on the second book started in 2007, or 2008, which was proceeding very nicely, until the cancer crap hit me, so I lost maybe a year or so in doing any productive work. After that bout was over, I got back into the working grove again, but other stop signs showed up, work was going to slowly, and I ended up without any help. But knock on wood, help did appear, and back on track I am again.

I'm looking forward to having a wrap on this project by years end, and then all the material will be forwarded to the publisher, or should I say, the printers, for that is all they will do, not the kind of book publisher I had for the first book, they were surely very attentive to all details.

One thing I would like to make known, that all funds received on deposit, are just that, deposits only, not the price the book will be selling for. There is no way to know what it will sell for, until the printer knows the exact number of pages, and then find out the cost of shipping. At that time, I should be able to come to know what the books will be selling for, except the shipping charge to where ever the book may be traveling to. The folks that have their deposits on hand, their price will be a hundred dollars less then for the new buyers who haven't put down a deposit.

At this time, at least 60% of the books are spoken for already, maybe more. Anyone who may have questions to ask, please feel free to email me at anytime you would like to. It's way to hard for me to email all on my lists for current updates. I hope I covered everything with this update, if not, let me know.

Best regards,

Leon
